About SaveMate

SaveMate is an independent, ad-free financial-education site that publishes calculators and explainers about personal money decisions in Europe.

Who we are

The SaveMate team is small. We write about the tools we use ourselves to plan finances. Each article is signed; the author page lists their experience and the reviewer who fact-checked the piece. We are not licensed financial advisors — see the Disclaimer below.

Mission

Make personal-finance decisions less mysterious for people who did not study finance. We focus on the EU context: real ECB rates, real inflation figures, real tax thresholds — not generic US examples adapted in name only.

Editorial principles

  • We cite primary sources only — central banks, statistical offices, peer-reviewed work.
  • We do not accept paid placements in editorial content.
  • We disclose any affiliate relationships on the affected pages.
  • We update articles when underlying data changes; both the publish date and the last-reviewed date are visible.
  • We use AI tools to assist drafting; every published piece is reviewed by a human before going live.

Not financial advice

SaveMate is not a registered investment advisor. Calculators produce estimates based on the inputs you provide. Outcomes in reality may differ. Consult a licensed professional for decisions specific to your situation.
